Ida Hjermitslev holds a PhD degree in Political Science from Duke University, USA, and has previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Government, University of Vienna.

Ida studies comparative political behavior with a special emphasis on how voters perceive and respond to elite cooperation and coalition formation. 

She is the recipient of a Carlsberg Reintegration Fellowship and will be working on her project Why coalition governing can alleviate political polarization | Carlsbergfondet.dk. Ida assumes a position as assistant professor in the Political Sociology research group.
