The conference provides opportunities for paper presentations within themes that will enable a dialogue between researchers from different policy contexts. Furthermore, the conference will include keynote presentations from Professor Mirko Noordegraaf, Utrecht University, the Netherlands, on “Changing forms of professionalism in public service delivery”, and Associate Professor Anat Gofen, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, on “Frontline organizations as experimental settings for policy change” as well as a panel discussion with prominent scholars in the field.
We welcome papers that investigate policy-governance relations and dimensions of state-citizen encounters relating to one or more sub-themes presented below. Furthermore, we offer the opportunity to propose special sessions. Proposals for special sessions need to be submitted before the 15th of December 2023.

Submission of proposals for special sessions: 15th of December 2023
Please write a short description of the proposed theme including some thoughts about the likely audience/target group of your session. Please also state who will chair the workshop. Special sessions proposals must be emailed to the organisers at slb@conference.aau.dk
Accepted special sessions will be published on the conference website: 3rd of January 2024
Abstract submission deadline: 1st of February 2024
Acceptance notifications: 1st of March 2024
Deadline for full paper submission: 1st of June 2024
The conference is organized by WISER at Aalborg University and will be held in Copenhagen at Aalborg University Campus on 18th-20th of June 2024.
