This project analyses the legitimacy of four different borders of inclusion and exclusion of democratic interests. The project asks how democracies might defend the exclusion of groups such as children, future citizens, and immigrants that are affected by democratic policies but excluded from democratic procedures; and how democracies might defend norms and policies that undermine the preconditions for popular sovereignty of others such as future citizens and peoples in other countries.

Et stort problem i den nuværende CORONA/COVID-19-krise er, hvordan man undgår og/eller håndterer den smitsomme virus i ældreplejen. Både på plejecentrene og i hjemmeplejen. Globale rapporter og data fra Danmark viser, at COVID-19 er særligt farlig for ældre mennesker.

Through the focus on the municipal CEO the project aims to uncover basic features of the career system, the governance networks and the leadership styles characterizing Nordic local government.

The SEPOS project develops a broader, policy-relevant conceptualization of societal security, built on the notion of human security that covers aspects such as: cohesion, trust and drivers for marginalization. The project highlights and intervenes in the unequal distribution of security, particularly among marginalized and racialised groups, studying how the divergence in the lived experience of safety and in the securitizing practices contributes to forms of polarization and exclusion in society. The project aims to produce empirically based, policy-relevant research, understanding the relationship between experiences of marginalization, discrimination and personal security, and to channel this knowledge to public authorities via an encompassing network of stakeholders across the Nordic countries.

Associate professors Malayna Raftopoulos (Department of Politics and Society) and Sandra Cassotta (Department of Law) have started a new research project titled Digitalization as tool for Climate Change Adaptation in Disaster Risk Reduction in a Multilevel Regulatory Perspective. The project proposes to link digitalization, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation.

Gennem samarbejdet ønsker vi at udvikle et antal tværfaglige moduler til samlæsning på de to uddannelser, hvorved BID kan tilbyde en forretningsspecialisering til BAIT-studerende fra 4. til 6. semester. Overordnet er det målet at intensivere samspil og integration mellem de tekniske og de samfundsvidenskabelige elementer gennem en udvikling af en tværgå-ende og integrativ applicering af Computational Thinking.

In terms of understanding and explaining governments’ conditions of fair and impartial treatment, Street-level bureaucracy theory concerns the formal distribution of power within the politico-administrative system and assumes a structural similarity between public agencies and across public sectors and countries when providing public service to citizens. Also, the idea of policy transfer is pervasive among policy-makers, public leaders and in much public administration research.
